Black and white portrait of Andy Blyth, smiling and wearing glasses

I’m Andy, a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist based in Edinburgh, working in person and online across the UK. I’ve spent over 15 years working with the psychological side of sport and exercise, including the last four years in rehabilitation, helping people find their way back to the activity they love after injury, pain or illness.

I know that when injury takes you away from the thing you love, the reasons you’re struggling usually aren’t just physical. Pain, fear of re-injury, lost confidence, a routine and a team you miss, these things tend to get tangled together, and “just get back out there” doesn’t really help.

My role is to help you make sense of what’s getting in the way, and to work with you, at your pace, to start finding a way through it. Not with pressure or programmes, but through honest conversation, evidence-based psychology, and a genuine respect for where you are right now.

You don’t need to be an athlete, and you don’t need a plan. You just need to feel ready for a conversation.
